The Marines of 2nd Battalion 1st Marines secured 6 towns in 10 days during Operation Steele Curtain almost one year ago. Here is some of our work.

Semper Fi, Devil Dogs.

Sometimes I wonder if I've changed so much, my wife is even gonna recognize me whenever it is I get back to her, and how I'll ever be able to, tell about days like today.

I love reading some of the old records from WWII of the Germans first encounters with the U.S. Marines. The term DevilDogs got coined from the germans because the marines were so ruthless and inhuman towards the german military. Wish they had of put some of that in Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers. hehe.

Hate to correct ya, but Devil Dog (Aka - TeufelHunden) was given to the Marines in WW I by the Germans. Specifically at the battle of Belleau Wood. Marines never got to fight the Germans in WWII as the Army was Jealous of our success in WWI and didn't allow us in the European Theater. So we got to fight the Japanese instead.
