Fanboys?

After reading the excellent reportage from Code i was wondering?  Is this a even community?  I know we have plenty of fanboys but the recent anti PS3 comments have got me worried.

Now i have recently been called an xbox 360 fanboi and even tho i have some of the qualities i prefer the term game enthusiast more.  I am very supportive of the 360 and all that M$ have done but i wont bash Sony too much as we dont know alot of stuff.  This doesnt stop alot of people tho and the anti sony comments are coming thick and thin.

What possess people to become die hard fans of a particular console or brand.  Is it that we need a certain level of stablity and reassurance, maybe subconsiously?

Unbiased reviews come around very rarely and i dont believe i can even do one.  This turmoil revolves inside me?  Am i a fanboi?  I have loads of consoles and enjoy playing them.  Admitedly i really only play on my 360 now even tho the PS2 and Cube are all set up and waiting.  Why is that?  Why do i only seem to buy 360 games now?  It may be a lack of funds, but what does M$ offer that Sony does not and why are poeple so adament to defend that?

What if Sony start doing things better than M$  Will the fanbois convert?  Will they close their eyes and pretend that it's not happening?
I think that the only thing I hope for is that i can build a great friend base just like on 360 and that i get great quality games.  Hopefully soon i shall be asking myself "what platform shall i buy this game on"?

Your first paragraph is kind of hidden to the right, you need an extra [enter] somewhere. As a current 360 fanboy, I will convert to Sony when they offer services I want (good online multiplayer, low price, games like Halo2 and Mass Effect) instead of those I don't want (Blu-Ray, Sixaxis controller).

You know, I'm not a fanboy either way. I don't know if I can afford a PS3, but goddamn that picture looks sexy. Would look even better in my entertainment shelf.

I could care less who makes the system. As long as I can play with friends I'm there. That and they fact that my checkbook can only handle so many consoles.

I prefer to be camped with Nintendo and Microsoft at the moment. It is not that I am a fanboy, I just want to see Sony get taken down a peg or too and then have to work to get their respect back. If all 3 do well and it is a level playing field then everybody works that much harder to be more innovative and also creative with games. The only benefit will be to the gamer and these companies won't get lazy too much and we get what we really deserve for the amount of money we put into these companies and other developers.

Sonys executives preying on the lack of tech knowledge of the average gamer disgusts me. Most of their hype consists of such. As for the system itself? I have more than enough choices for games with a 360 and a PC. But if the PS3 comes around with a great exclusive lineup later, I will probably buy it.

I find it funny that every one says if you know anything about graphics etc you know that the PS3 and the 360 are evenly matched but these guys are getting paid too many millions to do this and MS are packing themselves hense the rush launch cause they know Sony is what it says it is.
