As we now find ourselves coming into the cold and flu season again I thought it would be good for me to share a recent experience with my 2old2play family concerning a new product on the market for those experiencing the pains and frustrations of a cold.

You may have heard of this product or seen it on the shelves at your local grocery or drug store. It is called Shower Soothers from SudaCare.

As you can see, it promises to provide "comforting care" when you are congested by bathing your stuffy head in the soothing vapors of Eucalyptus, Menthol and Camphor. You are probably thinking the same thing I did "It's like Vick's Vaporub for your shower!". Keep on reading my friend.

As I recently found myself on the recieving end of a cold I picked up a three pack of these tablets to try them out along with my usual regimen of Dayquil and Nyquil. The first one was a bust as it ended up being submerged by the water in the shower as I didn't smell a thing. The next two I put farther away from the drain so water just flowed by. Sure enough, I could smell a slight hint of menthol when it got started. I patiently waited for the nasal clearing deluge of menthol and camphor that never came. The tablet just slowly eroded away and my eyes had a slight tingle. That was it. I was really disappointed as I put breathing at a premium when I am sick and I was looking forward to the experience.

This got me to looking at the package a little closer. It didn't list anything it would help with. It would just provide "comforting care" whatever that is supposed to mean. Comforting care?!?!?

So I went to their website to do some looking around and I found some real gems:

Can I take Sudafed® Decongestant (or other medications) while using SudaCare™ Shower Soothers® tablets?

Yes. Taking any medication orally will not interfere with the use of SudaCare™ Shower Soothers® tablets.

Are there any active ingredients in SudaCare™ Shower Soothers® tablets that promote sleep or decongestion?

No. SudaCare™ Shower Soothers® tablets are non-medicated and do not have any active ingredients.

Non-medicated and do not have any active ingredients?!?!?! Huh?!?!?!

So, with SudaCare Shower Soothers you get "comforting care" from inactive ingredients. Seems fair enough.

I tell you what, in an effort to save the pocketbooks of my 2old2play family, instead of you buying the Shower Soothers at your local store, send my just half of what you would normally pay and I will send you twice as much inactive ingredients packed with FOUR TIMES as much "comforting care". How's that for a deal?
