Tirade

I usually like to put in some pictures to keep people interested - but this is just a rant about pre-ordering games...

there may be profanity...

Please stop reading now if you can't handle 4 letter words.

Are you ready?

I pre-ordered Phantasy Star Universe for the 360 from EB games (see a previous blog).  The web site and EB games stated that it will be available on Oct 24th.  Well, today is October 24th and EB said it was delayed...

uh, delayed...

EB said it ships on the 24th - will be in store on 25th.  Like I stated before... the web site phantasystaruniverse.com and EB games says it will be AVAILABLE on the 24th.  Now I feel like a goof becasue I thought that meant it would be AVAILABLE on the 24th.

I have had a few hours to calm, so I guess my language tirade will not occur, but this is the deal:

What the fuck is the difference between the following phrases:

In-store date - availability date - street date - ship date - in-your-hands date - release date

whatever - Is it EB's fault?  I guess not.  Is it Sega's fault?  Probably, but how the fuck do I get in touch with Mr Sega?

I am just upset because I was really looking forward to starting the game TONIGHT, as I have the time.  Is that so wrong?

I hope this doesn't happen with the games rolling out next month.  I mean, what would you do if you went into EB on THE DATE THEY SAY IT'S AVAILABLE and it's not there?

"sorry, delayed one day."

Minor inconvenience or

emergence day CHAOS?

That pisses me off too. I've had stuff reserved and its supposed to be IN THE STORE on a particular date.... then the date changes without warning. Or its in the next day or something. Its ridiculous.

only thing you can do is not pre-order and call the store to see if they have a copy of said date.

EB got me with "since it's not going to be a big seller (PSU) - we're only taking pre-orders... basically they were trying to tell me they wouldn't have any on hand to sell... hhmmm - did I get taken?
