Halloween Spooky

I was awakened at 1:00 AM because of a garage fire in the neighborhood. I had been dreaming the cops were after me because there was sirens everywhere. A short time later someone knocked on the door. I woke up Teddybear to answer the door - it was our neighbors telling us we needed to get the kids out of the house right away, there was a fire behind our house. So we go to the backdoor and see smoke rolling across the sky. He points to where he sees the flames coming from and after a few seconds of getting oriented I see flames leaping out of a top story window not in our alley, but the alley one block over (our neighbors have a history of being a bit excitable). Intermittently, there were flashes of what looked like lightning. It was the spookiest site I ever saw. What strikes me as weird now is how clear it looked, even though it was over a block away. Anyway, the fire department seemed to have everything in hand so we went back to bed (I was so relieved not to have to wake the kids, my youngest is scared to death of fires).

Next morning we find out it was a garage that had caught on fire and the fire was so hot that it burned to ashes, caught a car on fire parked in back of it, singed the house next to it and caught the nearby electrical wires on fire too (the other wordly flashes that I saw).  Thankfully, no one was hurt. I suspect it was a Halloween prank gone bad!
