I barely played anything yesterday. In fact my wife put in more time on the console. Not sure why, but I felt the urge to go old school and read a book yesterday after a day when everything seemed to break at work. For those reading this thing, you know that I am no stranger to PCs. Yesterday it was clear that the primary desktop I use for things like Email, surfing the web, etc was not long for this world. My theory is that is was overheating because the fan wasn’t doing much of anything.

Now I wanted to get everything that I have on there, off of it before I sent it on its way, so I started converting one of my test boxes to have all the normal crap that I use on a daily basis. I have a lot of software.  I have even more crap. It’s all sorts of files and stuff that I might need or want, but rarely touch. Anyway, took me the better part of the day to really get going in the right direction, and it didn’t help that most of the file transfers had to be repeated when the old system crashed. I do have real backups of important stuff, but most of this stuff falls between crap and important enough to back up.

Anyway… It’s all in decent shape now. Today I think I will go home and play the new arcade demo, I ran though it quickly before I left this morning and it might be fun. I also have one more level in Roboblitz from last week, then I will play it to get some of the more anal achievements.

Sweet, I've read all of those books except the most recent one (Hunters of Dune, I think?), which is waiting at home to be read. Before I can read that one though, I just picked up the story of that guy who was hiking and had to cut his own arm off. Can't wait to read that one!

It was one of the newer Dune books by Keven J Anderon (Herbert's son's name is there too, but we all know that is just for show) Its called the Machine Crusade. I think, its not in front of me at the moment.
