It was a good week off for me. I relaxed and really didn't do much of anything other than some WoW and code. Unfortunately, I coded enough to realize that my design for Splatter is not going to work. Long story short - core graphics libraries in C# aren't so awesome. I *could* go the route of DirectX / OpenGL but at that point I'd just rather write some game code. I learned lots about C# on this little adventure so it wasn't all for nothing.
So I'm back to another juncture. I feel like I abandoned a good idea when I stopped working on GalX with the Torque Game Builder. The TGB technology just wasn't good enough for what I wanted to accomplish. Now I'm back to considering "rolling my own" 2D game engine. I already have a *ton* of the ground work complete since I originally was going to code all of GalX myself (i.e. no Torque Engine). The "hard" part will be making my own level editor but now that I'm fairly comfy with C# I don't think that'll be a big hurdle. Before I jump into another coding project I'm giving it a little time to sink in though. I spend a good amount of time actually *playing* games (ok, just WoW) and I'm not sure I'm ready to give that up to go hardcore on a project :)
In my effort to kick my golf game down into the single digit handicap I picked up a set of Mizuno MP60's and so far I'm really liking them. Much less lateral randomness than with my old graphite cavity backs...yuck. I'll be hitting up the range every day it isn't sub-zero :)
