Happy Birthday to me.

I was all prepared, on this my 45th birthday, to post a long and thoughtful rant about the clusterfuck that has become my life but then Pan's Labyrinth got "6" Oscar nominations so that will have to keep for another day when I'm in a pissier mood. Ah, hang on.......(insert favourite elevator music here).........ok, I'm back. Sorry about that, my supper was ready. Yes, I know what time it is but I work nights remember? Where was I? Oh ya, Pan's Labyrinth. Plan on taking the kids to see it this weekend. The ex is somewhat leery about them seeing this but they are as hyped about it as I am. Yes, I know it's rated R (for violence and language) but trust me, my two are mature well beyond their years and neither are in therapy.

No trailers at the moment but some new posters are out for 300 and Grindhouse as well as some new shots from Transformers.

And while I'm still in a fairly good mood, something funny. Somebody slipped me one of Mike James baby photos.

300 will definitely be a fantastic flick. I'm looking forward to Pan's Labyrinth as well, it should certainly be a sight to behold, much like Mirrormask is. Hopefully the completion of Pan's Labyrinth means that work on Hellboy 2 will be in full swing soon and we can be back in theaters for that sometime next year. The Tarantino / Rodriguez flicks also look pretty sweet, almost like Sin City, which was almost excessively awesome. I want to love Transformers, I really do, but it's got so much going against it before even seeing the thing so I'm quite wary. Definitely will give it a good chance to serve up my words for consumption. Michael Bay, don't destroy the characters that we all grew up with and love...
