Have experienced the worst weekend! I am totally into getting my parents yard all spiffed up. We have a riding lawn mower, chain saw, hedge trimmer...oooh I LOVE yard power tools...ahem, back to my story.
So...I ordered a few things from Home Depot online because they didn't carry what I wanted in the stores...typical. The items were:
  • A tow behind cart - you know to pull behind the lawn "tractor"...to take yard wastes away, or bring large quantities of wood up to the house.
  • A deck box - it's by rubbermaid, it's big and I can put all my new toys in it, and I don't have to worry about them getting ruined in my father's garage
  • A heavy duty grill cover - an essential item in Western "it rains all the damn time" Washington. :)
So...the first two items came earlier last week. I didn't have a chance to get them put together before saturday because, you guessed it, it rained all damn week! So saturday comes around, and my brother and I start putting the deck box together, c'mon it's rubbermaid, it was super easy. Figured we'd get the easy one out of the way. So we start taking the box off of the cart...and it is all friggin dented in...keeping in mind...that is some damn sturdy metal...we tried  bending it to see if we could fix it...something really damn heavy had to have been dropped on it...here's a pic

I know, right!?! So, I call the customer service number...and they inform me that they can't just send a new one, I have to go through the whole damn process of sending it back and waiting for them to credit my card before I can buy a new one...ugh! It made me so mad.
So, today I talked with the delivery service that's going to come pick up the item, and they told me that Home Depot requests that they deliver the item even if it's obviously damaged because the customer might decide to keep it!!!! Plus, I can't even take it into the local store to exchange it...I think that is rediculous! Can you believe that? I am so not impressed with home De pot...I want to drive a gauss warthog over to the store and blow it up. Anyone wanna hop in the hog with me?

Make note of the delivery service. I had a Christmas gift delivered looking similar to your deck box only it was a lap desk.

This must be why I have seen Home Depot referred to as "Deep Homo" on some of the woodworking forums I've been too.

Do you have a Lowe's in the area? They are the same kind of company... send that POS, get your credit to your card and go elsewhere.

I would call their customer service department and complain my way up the food chain until you get satisfaction. I have a similar cart but mine is made of plastic - no dents, rusting, etc.

What JoeBob said. If you're not happy, you haven't gotten far enough through the phone pyramid yet. Threaten to sit outside your local Home Depot giving everyone that walks by the 411. :)
