I've played drums since I was 11 and I'm turing 27 in a few weeks...that's a long time folks! =] I had always wanted to play drums...so when I got into middle school there was simply no choice...
A little more than a year ago, I had to move in with the lady i take care of...and thus made it impossible to have my drums with me...so I decided to take my musical outlet into a different arena. Those of you who have been in a band know that if your drummer and bass player are in sync...everything sounds loads better! I had the fortune of playing in a couple bands with a guy I grew up with...he was the bass player...he and I were awesome together! We could play off of each other, and change the way a song sounded with out saying a word...it was awesome! We re-did a Marylin Manson song and jazzed it up...it was RAD!
AHEM..back to my story...so I decided since I couldn't have my drums, I'd get myself a bass. I started out with a crappy ebay special, and from there I decided to purchase a little bit better bass. For you bass players...I'm not a professional so don't barf when I tell you that I bought a fender next... :) I will reveal my girlyness and say I bought it because it was pretty.. :)
Recently I thought it would be cool to get an acoustic bass. My friends and I have a lot of bonfires during the spring and summer, and a few of my friends play guitar, and one plays the banjo...so, I thought it would be cool to have an acoustic bass for that reason...to play along with my buddies...
We started messin' around last week, and it's soooo fun! Last night we did some stirring renditions of "You are my sunshine"...and "Ring of Fire"...it was so fun! I love music! I'm such a softy sometimes.
