Shared on Thu, 03/29/2007 - 11:35I bought Trioncube the other day. I should listen to that little voice, since the game really lacks variety I want in a puzzle game. The game is a Tetris variant. Instead of completing lines, you complete 3x3 squares with 3-block pieces. There's often a time limit, but it's very easy to win. Once you've completed a square or squares, you may keep dropping pieces to combo more squares until the combo timer runs out. You can literally fill the entire board this way.
That's it. Continued play gives you points. Points unlock items. The items can be bought with the coins from your combos. The items don't do much. They change the graphics and sound. As a reward, this is not enough to keep me playing.
As puzzle games go, this is a great game for very young gamers.
