I can clearly remember my first day at my new school. My best friend Kim K. and I were quite excited. We knew our schedules, and our courses, but the most important thing about our new school was Matt W. (sigh). We was older (grade 11 or 12) REALLY cute, was in a band and did I mention cute. So, we walk in to the grand halls of our new school, and who did we see? The ever gorgeous Matt. So Kim and I walk up to him and Kim says (and I will never forget this)
"Hi. We're lost.".
HA! Beat THAT pick up line! I dare you!
So: continuing on.... Matt tells us where our first class was, and we were on our way.
Soon after that I met a girl sitting in the locker bay reading a book: it was called Spell for Chameleon by Piers Anthony. We stuck up a conversation, and that was how Terri and I became best friends. Kim K and I didn't talk much after grade 11, but I was Matron of honour at my gal Terri's wedding this year. I guess the bonds of nerd-dom out weigh boys.
So: This week I re-read Spell for Chameleon by Piers Anthony. I was FUN. Do yourself a favour: if there is a tween in your life pick it up for them. He is up to book 20 something, they jumped the Shark at around book 5.
Anyway: I've confessed a bit about my first day of high school: any other stories out there?
Signing off! Have a great Easter: God Bless!
