Mom and baby were released from the hospital today.  It's good to be home.  I am humbled and amazed at the difference between my readiness for this child compared to our first.  In the last few weeks before my oldest was born I was extremely nervous and down right scared.  I didn't know if I would be a good father, hell I had never held a baby for more than a couple of minutes my entire life.  This time I was excited, knowing what to expect and how I would handle it was a great relief.

I had ordered a surprise for my wife but I wasn't sure if it would make it before she arrived home.  I made a few calls and I was able to get it delivered about an hour before we got home.  When we pulled up to the house I had my wife close her eyes.  When she opened them she saw this...

She was immediately in tears.  The sign is a rental but we get to keep the stars, we will hang one in each of the girls rooms.  Everyone is sound asleep now except for me....guess I will join in.

Dude, I would call their corp head quarters every day until you got a new couch. Customer experience is king in business, and if you complain loud enough and often enough, you'll get what you want - especially when they gave you a crappy product. waiting 3 weeks let alone 7 is totally unacceptable. This kind of thing happened to me, and my wife called and called and got them to actually give us money back because we were so vocal about it. Make your voice heard!!! they will be listening. Tell them that you will start blogging how crappy their company is, and see what kind of reaction you get.

Man, that sucks. I always figured LAB was pretty good stuff, although I'm far too lazy to have actually researched this. Hope it all works out for you man.

Ell that just kept me from buying LAB in the future!!!! Sorry for your dilemma. I do agree with slowthumbs though. I think I would be on the phone with LAB corporate everyday until it was resolved. Good Luck!!!!

Yeah, I think I'll do that. I'll get the corporate number and let them know about this experience and how I had to go without a couch that I paid a nice sum for. Good idea. :) The repair guy told me that he thinks its just bad luck on my end with the pieces, normally he doesn't see this much trouble with them. Figures it would happen to me. :D

That was a great idea! Both girls will appreciate them in the future, not to mention your wife!! It's great you made sure to include the eldest.

Props for a good idea, and a big "get out of jail free" card for a future transgression with the wife. ;)
