It is a rye whiskey and if you have ever had the pleasure of trying Sazerac rye you will be overjoyed with this offering. The Sazerac comes in a 18 year and a 6 year the Handy is the six year just uncut and unfiltered at cask strength. It is a little hot at 130 proof but it is a baby once you let it open up a bit. It starts out strong and then wakes your tongue with a very nice spicy and bold taste it will finish smooth with a hint of caramel. If you want to cut it with a bit of ice or water it will tame this for you but it does in my humble opinion give it's best flavor straight up. If you like ryes then by all means give this one a try it runs around 50 bucks a bottle but it is well worth it. Next weekend I will try a limited edition William Larue Weller wheated whiskey I am looking forward to it. An update on the titanium flask I let it sit for 2 weeks with some George T Stagg in it and no difference in taste or smell. I am very pleased with it.
