Ukraine

I finally got internet access again last night.  I started to write a blog entry and then lost internet... However only the computers in this room lost internet.  The six others in the other room didn't.  Oh well.. 

Things are going great here.  We are putting a roof on a 23 x 33 garage.  We have to build the trusses by hand.  We have plans from a company in Canada but there are no metal plates so we are cutting plywood to make the joints.  Lots of nails to hold it together.  The wood is 2 x 4... A TRUE 2 x 4.  Not 1 3/4 by 3 1/2.  Also the wood is sometimes 2 x 4.  Sometimes 2.1 x 4.1 or 2.2 x 4.2.  You get the drift?  Makes it very hard to makes things level and square.  We have a planer that we use A LOT. 

We also had to back fill the garage and around the outside of the foundation.. Man I wish I had a bobcat !!!  I haven't moved that much dirt in a long time.....

Tomorrow we get a break and get to play tourist.  We will visit one of the largest open makets in Ukraine and some catacombs.  Will be a break from working however a lot of walking so it might not be as much of a break.
