My Brush with Fame
So I am in Florida at a conference. Image my surprise when we start seeing all kinds of tall young men walking around. Soon we find out that the NBA Pre-Draft workouts are going on this week at Disney's Sports Complex. A bunch of the coaches and players are staying at the same hotel I am. I saw Greg Oden and some others I don't know. A friend of mine got Greg's autograph, Kevin Durrant's autograph and numerous others. Some other friends saw Larry Byrd. Another person I know is actually rooming beside Larry Byrd in a different hotel (which I will not name).
Another guy told me he was working out the other morning and Moses Malone was running beside him.
So anyways, I like college ball, but I am not a huge fan so I don't recognize any of the players. A bunch of coaches, GM's and other famous NBA people are supposed to be here but I wouldn't recgonize them. Like I said , it was a brush with fame. I haven't bothered to get autographs or pictures. They put there pants on the same way I do, One leg at a time.
