Yesterday I got off the phone with Microsoft and I had no hair left. For starters the phone call lasted for just under an hour. And when I could get the guy to stop reading from a que card and talk to me, the discusson was like talking to a wall. He repeated everything I said, and asked me the dumbest questions, over and over and over again.

Here is the just, and the reason I called them. My screen has been locking up. On Halo 3 beta, and every game I put in. I called to tell them that they need to make this right.
He said, sorry sir, but the year warranty has expired and I would have to shell out about 150.00 dollars.

To which I told him he has lost his mind! I just sent my Xbox 360 in back in March for the SAME thing and have had it back for 2 months and what ever they did, didn't fix the problem.

Here is the best part... He said and I quote: "Sir, this is an electronic device and they can break...." To which I cut him off and responded in a very loud voice:" BUD, sitting 1 foot above the xbox 360 is a sony 28 inch tv that has lasted 12 years, thru teenagers, and dogs and moving 3 times and it works like a charm. Next to that is an Aiwa stereo that is 15 years old... never even a hicup with that. I have a microwave I have owned since college... you don't want to even know what that thing has been thru.... BUT YOUR XBOX CAN"T LAST 12 MONTHS AND HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP ALREADY AND IS ON ITS WAY BACK IN THERE!

I then asked to talk to a supervisor, and in five minutes he said the repair would be done at no cost. So, I will limp along and wait for the UPS box to come and once again I will give up my xbox for about a month.

I guess the one good thing is that the beta is almost over, and there are no games that I want that come out soon.

I am on my third 360 and the same thing happened to me. Microsoft gave me the same shpeel about the one year warranty on the original 360 when the one that they replaced it I had had it for less than 6 months. To make a long story short, I voiced my opinion like you in a very stern manner and got a refurb 360 with a 2 year warranty on this one. Still sucks that I have a LAUNCH DAY Xbox 180 that still works like a champ.

Man, people have some bad luck with their 360's... My 360 is a launch-day box, and it's frigging coming from the planet Krypton. The thing won't die. It plays everything, it does what it should when I ask it... I can't believe so many people have bad 360's...

My launch system died about two months ago but is running fine now. If it dies again, I'm getting a core for a backup.
