After a 9.5 hour drive, I arrived home last night.  It sure is good to sleep in your own bed.  Downloaded Call of Duty 2 demo last night and played a little this morning.  Had a dental appointment today.  Suppose to get teeth cleaned.  All they ended up doing was xrays and pictures.  Turns out my cleaning is going to be a 2 visit affair.  Something about a deep cleaning and root scraping.  Sounds like fun.  Guess that is what I get for not having them cleaned in so long.  Good news is I don't have to pay for my root canal.  The secretary is the mother of one of my softball players so he did it as a favor to her.  That saved me about $500.  On the way home I picked up COD 2 for $20.  Guy kept telling me COD 4 is coming out.  I should preorder it.  I told him I am just getting COD 2, I think 4 can wait for a little.  Anybody still playing this online?

OMG! RUN! I had a 'deep cleaning ONCE. They called mine Root Planing. Most painful experience I have had at the dentist not counting the masachistic a-hole dentist we had as kids. Anyway, They gave me advil before they started.... if that's any indication. But, like you, it was my fault.

Great. She said that they sometimes numbed you before hand but she didn't think I would need it. I may have to ask for it now.

I need to go in for a 'deep cleaning', 'root planing' and/or 'gross cleaning', but the pain and anxiety keep me delaying. My gums have done some receding, so I really need to go. Decisions, decisions... The problem with all three (actually the same procedure from what I can tell) is that they use that curved scraper and go under the gum line along each tooth. The space is variable so the hygienist usually stabs in the gum, depending on her mood and expertise. Dentists don't want to numb you a lot because the hygienist needs to know if she is stabbing the gum to know how things are going.
