It's a Done Deal

The wedding is over. All the drama and emotion didn't end until after the reception. Let me preface this by saying it was a beautiful wedding, and the main objective went off without a hitch (pun intended). First of all, it poured down rain - bucketloads. Then the route described and mapped out for the groom's relatives from Colorado? A train breaks down, stalls, whatever, across the road to the church. Not being from the area, they were guided in by cell phone. The wedding was scheduled for 6:00; it started at 6:45. My other son-in-law's tux pants were too big because the "adjuster" on the side broke, so I wouldn't have been surprised to look up and see his pants at his ankles.

The reception was about 15 miles away at a dance hall type place that does receptions. The fajitas and other food was great, and I enjoyed watching all the people. As I've mentioned before, I like to observe human behavior/interactions. Give me a few minutes, and I can nail down personalities, etc. with pretty fair accuracy. I guess I just practice a great deal at work.

There was a country western band there that wasn't half bad. I listen to all kinds of music, except opera. These guys were a wee bit loud for some of the older folks, but it didn't run them off. I suppose the worst thing that happened is that the oldest daughter gave the guy on the soundboard a top-of-the-line ipod to play when the band took a break and the first dance, etc., and it "disappeared". It had around 900 songs on it at around a buck a pop. I suspect the help, because it happened when everyone was outside when the bride and groom departed. She handled it better than I would have.

All in all, God was in the house, and He had to have been pleased. The ceremony was very biblical in nature, and the verses were well chosen. I'm very pleased. I'm also very glad it is over. My daughter is married to a good guy, my wife is happy, I stayed out of trouble and out of the way, and the house is at rest. Of course, at the bottom of the list, I have my recliner and my 360 back. I know more about General Hospital than any man should know.

Oh, I take everything in stride. I'd say it was an "eventful" day. Mom, on the other hand, would have a different version.

I had an ipod vanish at my kids 1st birthday party. That sucks, they are not cheap to replace. Glad the wedding went well.

Enjoy 'em while you can. Your time will come sooner than you can imagine. They left for San Lucias Isle (no idea how to spell that) this morning. I get the house again today. Best birthday present ever.
