Shared on Mon, 07/09/2007 - 07:14It's before 7:00 AM, and I can't believe I'm awake. I worked my rear end off this weekend. With the A/C kicking the bucket and the water heater croaking, I decided to try to make a little extra cash. Early Saturday morning I took a truckload of things I was tired of tripping over to the flea market. It rained most of the morning, but I still managed to pay the space rent and pocket 80 bucks or so. While that was a blessing, without the rain I would have done twice as much.
Unfortunately, the busiest day is Sunday, so I missed church, which I don't like, but I did end up doing over 400 for the weekend. The best single day I've ever had was $700, and I've done over 1,000 in two days. But, I'm grateful for what I can get, and I have a lot of friends there.
I did buy a few things for resale: an old metal ice chest for 10, some old eye glasses in the original case, and some very old baby clothes on the old hangers. One hanger was a blue wooden one with some sort of picture on it. I'm too tired to remember.
I REALLY need it to stop raining so I can paint some furniture. The paint just won't cure with all the humidity, and it has rained in spurts for two weeks now. The aquifers need the recharge, but enough already! I was driving home from Llano a few days ago and came pretty close to ruining the day for five head of cattle and me. A creek had flooded so badly that between the force of the water and the debris hanging on the fence, about 50 meters of the fence was almost to the ground. I stopped the truck and herded them back into the pasture, then saw another similar situation a few miles later. The ranchers are pretty overwhelmed right now.
That's enough for a Monday morning. God bless, and have a super week! Remember, your altitude depends on your attitude . . .
