A Tale of 2 TV's....

HDTV's to be precise.

I've decided to put off upgrading my PC. It does what I need it to do for graphic art and video work. And thats all I really need it for. So thats all its gonna do.

I might add more RAM and a better video card or DVD burner, but other than that....don't need anything else.

So I am going to up my movie/gaming experience into the full world of HD. Right now I game on either a 27" Hitatchi tv or my 20" widescreen LCD.

After looking at many many many televisions I've come down to two choices. Same brand. Just different models. Ones cheaper, but has a lower contrast ratio, and one is more and has a higher contrast ratio.

Here are the 2 TV's:

1.) Samsung - LN-T3253H 32-IN HDTV w/Integrated ATSC Tuner
Link -
Price - $877

2.)
Samsung - LN-T3242H 32-IN HDTV w/Integrated ATSC Tuner
Link -
Price - $786

Both are a damn good price. And I really don't see much of a difference except the contrast ratio. which I think isnt that big of a difference really.
Suggestions?

Hehe...I feel somewhat responsible for this. ;-) Although trust me...as soon as you go HD, you won't ever go back. It's akin to that first day you finally got broadband access to the internet over dial-up. B.

To REALLY get the full HD experience though, you need to be up around 50". Smaller also looks decent but it really shines at the larger sizes. Samsungs work well with the 360, Microsoft has been pimping those sine the 360 launch. I just upgrade my PC widescreen monitor a couple inches every year. Hoping this year on black friday i'll be able to pick a 30" for around 300-400. I'm not doing the full living room HD setup until around black friday 2008. I have to save my pennies all next year so i can go nuts at the AV store .

hehe. I would go bigger than 32", but its all I can afford right now...unless I went with a projector. But Im not gonna go down that road....it will just lead to more confusion and choices. So Im gonna stick with an HDTV for now.
