Shared on Mon, 08/13/2007 - 07:38I was getting my normal "Man, it's almost Monday" COD2 fix last night, when Karma Kramer popped on and sent a general Haye Guys message out. I replied and offered for him to join my game.
Oh no, he says, I would but I am downloading the BIOSHOCK Demo.
Oh yes! This set up a domino panic affect that I am sure was being repeated between online friends across the country. I immediately dropped my game, went to my dashboard and began downloading. Of course I sent a message to some of my friends letting them know it was available. I am sure a lot of people did that.
Thus began the hilarity of 1000 people downloading at one time. My little status bar would get up to about 17%, then it would start going backwards. So, I signed off, restarted - and it had dropped even lower! HAHA - You are not worthy, we are taking the demo back from you! - My Elite seemed to be mocking me with that green eye. I took it as a challenge and decided I would play it tonite no matter what. I started up some single player PSU - wow, first time I have used that acronym - and settled in to wait.
Three hours and a box of cheeze-its later - still no higher than 32%. So I gave in, Enabled offline downloads - which I am not sure why I didn't think about that before - and went to bed.
Today I am super-sleepy, but anxious to go home and play it - I think I might take a long lunch...... WOOT!
