Quick LAN thoughts

I know tons of people have put up some great recaps of the Chi-town LAN so I won't belabor the issue with repeat information.  I will take a moment to review something near and dear to my heart however.....cookies

From the top left we have a delicious batch of chocolate chip cookies that were sent to be graciously by Cookieklr.  Unfortunately UPS was not as kind to the shipment as they should have been with such precious cargo so this one batch was all that managed to survive.  The lower left is a batch of Chocolate/Chocolate chip morsels that were superb.  My wife (The Librarian) has really come into her own on the cookie making front.  Unfortunately (or fortunately for my waistline) she tends to only make them for LAN events.  Continuing at the bottom right are some of my favorites, Oatmeal Scotchies.  Above that is a half batch of Lemon Bars and the other half is what will now, thanks to Leighty, forever be known as "Sex in my mouth" bars.  I can't really describe them, they have to be eaten to be believed.  

I intentionally horded them for the first night in order to give a few of my clan mates first dibs but by lunchtime on Saturday I figured it was time to spread the joy.  It took all of about 15 minutes for the entire remaining treats to be consumed.  It seems the only thing gamers like more then alcohol is cookies.  Who can blame them.  Thanks a trillion to my wife for her efforts and to Cookieklr for sending up some great treats.

It was as always an awesome LAN.  The most memorable moment for me will probably be turning around to see TMan eating a burger while watching hard core porn on his monitor as if he was watching Wheel of Fortune.  It was nice meeting a few new people as well.  I've been to quite a few of these things now so I've met quite a few people but it was nice to add to that list.  Glory6, Mutus, PP2, Retrogirl, Tdrag, Poonga and many more that I'm forgetting. 

Thanks to all the people who help make this event possible.  I can't imagine what kind of facility we'll need to get this thing put together next year but at the rate we're growing the Rosemont Center next to the hotel isn't looking out of the question.
