Usually between about 6am and 7:30am, folks show up in my neighborhood and scavenge through the stuff people throw away. In a way, it's kind of cool because if you want to get rid of something large and that the garbage man wouldn't normally take, all you have to do is set it by the curb.
This morning, I saw a minivan with the back wheels jacked up like it was a monster truck. The woman that got out was pretty excited because some people about a block away from my house were moving and there were clothes baskets, a hamper, and some shelving units.
I guess the saying is true, "one man's trash is another man's treasure".
