Skimmin with GameFly

Anyone else use GameFly to rent games?  I just started a few months ago.

Pros: Turn around time is good.  They let you put stuff on your list that doesn't release for months.  Get to keep them as long as you want.  Disc quality is good.

Cons: They will send something further down your list if they don't have your top pick in stock.  That is really kinda annoying when I thought I got Bioshock and then opened it up and found Monster Suburbia or something.  And it's 20 bucks a month to have two out at a time.

Overall I am pretty happy with it.  Are there any better [cheaper] game rental services out there?

I think 1800 tastes like shit. Try TWO FINGERS, its a good quality Tequilla at a discount price. And take it from me, you could also sodomize your old man with the bottle when you polish it off. I mean...um...

I like gamefly and have the two disc service. I only add the available games to my queue when I return one. This will eliminate any chance that Monster Suburbia will arrive ahead of BioShock...as a past example. I get all of the new releases, that I don't buy, the day after launch. It's great.

In my experience, Gamefly is the best. Other services like Gameznflix never have any stock. Tank did a review at one point, try searching. Little trick, when a new relase comes out that is going to be in very high demand, clear your queue of everything excpet for that game. That way they are forced to send it. Otherwise, for a gmae like Bioshock, it could take weeks. Another big time Pro for Gamefly is the discounted purchase prices.

Thanks guys! I havent tried the KEEPIT! offer yet. But at least you know what you are keeping when you do that.

In short, all the game rental services suck :) But Gamefly is the least sucky though the most expensive. I use gameznflix for the 'play once and throw away' games. I have the 1 out at a time service for 8.99. Their website is pretty low end though and it takes them a while to get stuff out to you sometimes. I've just started email them after 7 days of sending the game back and telling them to ship me something, they usually do. As for not getting your first pick in the Q, if it's a new game that's a AAA title like BioShock, that should be expected. They only have so many copies to go around. Since you're paying ot have 2 games out at a time, they need to send you something, so they send you the first available title in your list which may be #1 or it may be #15. Blockbuster does that as well, so does netflix. Game rental services are no where near the quality of Netflix or Blockbuster for movies. But Gamefly is the closest with the largest inventory. I remember when gameflix was 21 bucks for 3 out at a time though.

Oh also with Gamefly, they have that KeepIT feature. So if you rented the game and really liked it, you can pick KeepIT and they'll charge you whatever they charge for a used game and send you the case/manual for free. When i tried them out, i got Fight Night 3 the day it released and the keep it price was ower than the retail price. So i was obviously the first renter so i could have bought it basically new for cheaper than retail. So that was nice. Not sure if that's the same case now or not, but their keep it service is the best of the bunch as well. And they also have older games on sale at times to clear out their inventory of old games, so you can pick up some good deals there as well.

Gameznflix sucks like a hooker working for a dime bag. I had the 16.99 3 discs out at once deal. Hell they still don't have Overlord available..that shit was out in June. I cancelled my service and told them that although 16.99 is a good price, it's a waste of money if they don't have any decent stock

Yeah, I have to agree, gamerznflix's selection sucks monkey balls but it is good for some filler titles. They don't even have Bioshock or Shadowrun. WTF?

I just use the gamepass at my local Hollywood (I think its 19.99 a month)Video, as long the store is a decent size and you know the release dates then you can get just about anything when it comes out and the same rules apply as say Gamefly, just don't have to wait for the mail. Blockbuster also offers this service, I just stopped using them as Hollywood by me has a better selection.
