Shared on Tue, 08/28/2007 - 23:49Had class today. Astronomy. It was interesting. My sister is taking it with me, therefore, it will be a good time no matter what. On the way home we decided to stop for coffee...and while you are getting coffee, you might as well go to B&N to look at books too! That's where I spent my evening. I found a book so great and so silly that I had to buy it. (Ian, it willed itself into my checkout pile, I swear.) Anyway, it is titledThe Pig of Happiness by Edward Monkton and it is now my theme book. I plan on carrying it around with me and showing it to people on a daily basis. Yes, including people I do not know. So, that is my recommendation for everyone. If it does nothing else for you, it will make you smile. That is a good enough reason for me! Also, while I was there I found a Quotable Magnet (which I enjoy collecting) that I also had to have. And this is my blog theme for the day. Enjoy!
Jack Kerouac (1922-1969) was a famous beat writer. (Even his name has a beat!) His writings include, but aren't limited to, The Dharma Bums, Dr. Sax, Big Sur, and On the Road.
I actually do not know where this particular quote came from, I could probably research it and find out, but I really don't want to right now. Maybe I will later and update you all (and myself), if you care that much.
The only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn, like fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars...
