Shared on Thu, 08/30/2007 - 08:28I'm back. Not that for the most part anyone noticed I was gone.
Asides from the lack of completely useless and empty blog entries on my behalf.
I made the commitment though...got married. The wedding went well, no major glitches. I didn't pass out, I didn't vomit...I showed up dressed and on time, I didn't have a hang-over. Amy showed up on time, the dress fit, her hair was awesome and she looked like a angel. The tent went up ok, they screwed up and loaded a larger tent than we requested onto the truck the night before so instead of a 20'x30' we got a 20'x40', which worked out much better...and at the same price it was a nice touch.
The wedding itself went well, my voice did crack a bit during the exchanging of vows...(I'm human after all). Since it was held in my in-law's back yard(which was looking awesome btw..since I did 7 hours of yard work there the day before) their out door cat kept strolling up and down the aisle and at one part apparently walked between myself and Amy and then sat under the table we had our candles set upon. It was apparently funny. Her parents did forget to put the runner down for her to walk on, but hey....I am sure I can find something else to do with 100' of white thule...yeah...
The reception went well. I pretended to dance....The only down side was the pastor that married us is family, so he of course came to the recetption..as did his wife. Sadly his wife is...well a big gal...and she apparently tried to squeeze in between a table and the wall, neither gave....but her footing did, she fell...HARD...later we learned that she fractured her elbow in the process. What can I say...its not a party until a bone is broken.
We went to the Canadian side of Niagra Falls for our honeymoon and spent 5 days there. It was really really nice. I have some impressions about our neighbors up north, or as I like to call them, America-lite.
1)There is ALOT of smoking going on there.....not just them..it seems to be the holy mecca of cigarette smoking....you can't go anywhere in the villages we visted without smelling second hand smoke.
2)The tax....EVERYTHING.
3)The dollar and 2 dollar coins are just friggin annoying.
4)Ketchup flavored potato chips...not all that good.
5)You can get a slice of pizza from a different place, every ten feet.
6)Don't bring electronics on the Maid of the Mist...I didn't but I saw people that did...idiots.
7)You won't get rich by playing the 5cent slot machines.
8)Casino's are made in a way that will prevent you from finding the exit...let's hope they don't catch fire..eh.
9)When crossing the border, it is not smart to make a joke about smuggeling human organs.
10)There are 12,000 miles of paved bike paths in Canada, you can theoretically ride your bike all the way from east to west, as well as from the southen border of Canada all the way to I think they said Antarcia or something like that......however, no one could explain to me....WHY!
I also picked up Bio-shock.....wow...nothing I can add to all the posts and entries I have seen on the subject already...but damn...thats a cool game.
That's it....I haven't gotten all my pics back yet from the wedding and what not...I will torture you all in the near future with them.
My groom's cake was a XBox 360 however...it looked decent...it was the girls first attempt at a novelty cake, and it looked pretty good for a first attempt, I will get ap ic of that up soon.
