Unless you've been hiding under a sofa lately, Halo3 is coming out next week. How pumped up about this should I be?
I played Halo on Mac and thought its multiplayer was fairly cumbersome. The warthog was cool. Banshee was okay, but the weapons and speed did not equal Unreal Tournament, nor did the gameplay.

So, skip ahead a couple of years...
I'm now in the market for a console and my bud has a 360. He rents Halo2 and we give it a spin. Yikes. The experience was even worse. Now that I've been involved with 2o2p and head up the ARTofWAR clan, I can see the potential for Halo3 to Rock. Will the game live up to its hype? I hope so. This is only the 3rd game I've pre-ordered. Thoughts?

4 player coop campaign (hell just 2 players is fine with me) over Live = frakking hell yeah! That's the thing I'm excited about most. The second is the vast amount of customizations I think we will be able to do in multiplayer. I am hoping we can do some really crazy stuff in MP... that turn out so fun that we can devote entire special clan nights to it.

well since it apprears you did not like the first or second Halo. Why would you buy it?

Dosc...Just rent it at Gamefly...you might not get it right away, but for 20 bucks month You can hold on to it for a couple of months and still save some cash.

Halo 1 and 2 came out during my "break" from video games. I played a bit of 1 on my brother's system when he brought it over once week. I don't think I've played 2. You should, however, at least watch the cutscenes: http://nikon.bungie.org/misc/cutscenes/ Honestly, you should watch them if you're not familiar with the story. If you're split on time just watch the second one.

Anyways, those should get you pumped for Halo. I think the single-player campaign and story will be really great and make the game worthwhile. The multiplayer beta was so-so. As for multiplayer, i predict Gears to still hold sway for many, including you and me.

I only pre-ordered Bio-shock so far that I can remember for this console so far. Good Luck with H3.

Don't believe the Hype man It will do you wrong everytime. If you bought Gears then you know the hype wasn't true. A solid game, but it comes up short. Bioshock not so much hype, but BAM!! once the reviews hit, what a game. Will Halo 3 live up to the hype.? We will know soon enough.

If it wasn't for fear of being kicked out of the clan I probably would have waited to rent it. But the hype got to me. And maybe it's not right to compare it to Gears, but I just don't see it being better than Gears. But I'll find out in a week.

Thats what I meant about the hype. One person can like a game because of the hype or inspite of the lack of hype. It all comes down to when you are still playing it a year later. I have a hard time comparing games. To many veriables.

I think it will live up to the hype, if you liked halo and halo2 you'll love halo3 , comparing it with gears is wrong . I love gears but in a totally different way ...EVERYONE on this site will be playing halo3.
