After 11.5 years of loyal service to the General Electric Corporation and 5 years of leading the Lean and Six Sigma initiatives within Healthcare Financial Services' Quality department, I have been told that they have decided to "go with a different skill set".

I feel like I've been simultaneously punched in the chest and the balls.  Time to start packing up my desk...

I know this probably won't be any help...But with the way your douche-bosses handled that situation tells me you're going to be better off somewhere else anyway... Sorry though...Not a good way to start the week regardless.

Sorry buddy. Hopefully you'll find something better and be able to look back at this as the beginning.

That blows, bud. I know you have a good outlook so you'll be able to bounce back after some personal r&r. Always sucks when its not on your terms. Know anything about retail and like to travel?

Clem, you've got my sincerest sympathies for what you're going through. How companies treat their employees these days borders on criminal. But as ElmanJo said, it's a good time for some personal R&R, before leaping back in. Take care

Good luck dude. Sounds like you're more than qualified for a job with another company doing what you're doing, anyone hiring? Get your resume over to a recruiter and let them do the work for you. In the meantime, enjoy the severance pay and the free gaming time.
