I met 2 buddies downtown about 7:30 and he hit one of my favorite spots for beers .... Fat Cats. The bartender at Fat Cats is this guy in his late 40's who knows just about all there is know about beers ... they way its brewed, the ingredients in each beer, where the taste is, what compliments it, how to pour it ... you get the picture. (caveat: I am unsure if he actually knows everything about beer or if he pretends to know.) Anyways, I had a Old Chubb Scottish Style Ale (8% Alc), an Old Rasputin Imperial Russian Stout (9% alco, and washed that down with 2 PBR's. Now I was ready to walk by 7-11 on the way to the show and pick up some beers for the wait in line.
We wait in line for about 20 minutes and make our way inside. This venue has an outside stage and an inside stage ... this show was inside which added to the pandemonium. There was this cool rock a billy band on before Murphys so I picked up a Guiness from the bar. 2 Guinesses later ... the Murphy's were on ... I immediately made my way to the floor which is probable 30 x 50 and 3 steps down. It was a great pit except for this douchebag who threw an elbow and hit me right in the nose.
Spent the entire night in the pit got a scratch on my cheek, a few bruises and lost my hat. I also picked up approximately 15 people from the floor (put etiquette).
Highlight of the night ... The show is winding down and my shoe falls off. I immediately locate my all black shoe on the all black floor. With my head down I fight off numerous people, locate the shoe and pick it up before someone can throw it. Shoe is back on my foot and I am not worried about people stepping on my toes as I make my way out of the show.
Added Bonus ... I checked my wallet this morning and still had 12 bucks left. Nice.
