It's official...

I had my "exit interview" with HR today, signed all the legal paperwork, and turned in my laptop, security badge and corporate credit card. This whole experience has been so draining that I just want to take a nap.

The severence package I received was reasonable. I get a payout in my next check for the vacation days I haven't taken yet this year (13). I will continue to get paid my regular salary until February 18. I get full benefits, including all insurance, until November 30th -- of 2008! The severence pay will continue even if I take another job outside of GE, so if I find something soon, I could be looking at a few months of double paychecks.

In the meanwhile, I'll can hone my gaming skillz.
