Halo 3. The Fight is Finished.

And I'm dissapointed. Not by the gameplay or the story...or the graphics. Those are all fine. I'm dissapointed by the length. 6 hours on Normal. I flew through the friggin game pretty much. Neither of the other Halo games were that short.

I enjoyed that I finished the story and I know what happened and all that. But 6 hours? Come on....

Co-op will make it replayable. But the Halo 3 campaign (without co-op, the meta game & skulls) is not as good as the Bioshock campaign IMO. Bioshock has alot more content, deeper story and overall a more interesting experience.

Not saying Halo 3's campaign isn't good....it is pretty good. But its not great. Like I said...I enjoyed finishing the fight....but I feel like the fight was handed to me on a silver platter.
The only really challenging levels were the flood levels. Which is just like Halo 1 & 2.

I'm not gonna spoil the end for those that haven't beaten it yet. But ultimately, while it was entertaining and fun, the fun was short lived. If they decide to continue this story arc for some reason, or tell more stories in the halo universe....make the game longer.

If I were to vote between Bioshock and Halo 3 for Game of the Year....I would have to say as far as storyline and immersion....Bioshock should take it.

Now onto the multiplayer aspect.
Here is where Halo 3 really really shines. Which you know means they spent more time polishing these features than the campaign.

Forge is fun, but building a good map will take time...and you probably need to do it by yourself so a friend doesn't distract you and be tempted to blow up your pretty stack of fusion cores. Controls are really easy to remember and are pretty intuitive.

By far the funnest thing to me is the Theater control feature. I love replaying games I just played, watching how others play, rewinding awesome moments and taking screen shots.

As far as gameplay goes...its still Halo, which is both good and bad. Because I know that all the new stuff will get old eventually and I'll be back where I was with Halo 2....bored.
But hopefully that wont be for a long while.

And with games like COD4 and Team Fortress 2 coming out soon....I can space out my Halo gaming so I don't get bored as quickly.

Thats about it for now. You all have a good weekend.

Gatsu OUT!

That the problem, you played it on Normal. The solo campaign I'm playing in Heroic and the Co-op on Legendary. And the fights are simply amazing. Bungie had to have Normal and Easy for other gamers new to the series; it's a must. I did the same with Gears. I played the Campaign in Hardcore so I could enjoy it more. People who I have talked to just played Normal just to breeze through the game and watch the ending and story.

This may sound like a stupid question but I'm a Halo N00b. What is the meta game and skulls?

Difficulty should not make the experience more or less enjoyable. Difficulty just increases the length of time it takes for you to get through a level because you die more. And shit is harder to kill. I didn't die once in Bioshock and it took me at least 10-12 hours to get through on normal difficulty. difficulty does not make a game more immersive.

In Halo it does. Enemy AI increases and there is more enemies dropped down by support ships. Thus making the battles much more epic and enjoyable. Shooting fish in a barrel is no fun. And that what Normal difficulty is.

Dude, just get the Grunt Birthday Party skull and enable it. Turned it on for Legenday and it really made a difference in the amount of fun we had. Hooray! :D But I have to agree, SP seems to have been almost obligatory. The difficulty level doesn't change the story at all. Just makes you cuss more.

thats my point Mass. difficulty just adds headache...not depth of story or immersion. dying and respawning every few seconds doesn't keep you pulled into the story. it actually kicks you in the face to remind you how unreal it is.

The harder the battle, the more enemies, the awesome AI makes the battles more memorable. I do agree it doesn't change the story but it does change the experience of the game. That party skull is hilarious. When you shoot a grunt in the head confetti shoot out and you hear children scream in content. :)

I agree with you. However, I have issues with the framerate, aliasing and some other technical details. Along with being short, the campaign didn't really get good until the flood ship crashed on earth. That was more than a 3rd of the way through! I think its a great game but the faults are there, most of which are campaign related.
