Shared on Fri, 09/28/2007 - 09:20And I'm dissapointed. Not by the gameplay or the story...or the graphics. Those are all fine. I'm dissapointed by the length. 6 hours on Normal. I flew through the friggin game pretty much. Neither of the other Halo games were that short.
I enjoyed that I finished the story and I know what happened and all that. But 6 hours? Come on....
Co-op will make it replayable. But the Halo 3 campaign (without co-op, the meta game & skulls) is not as good as the Bioshock campaign IMO. Bioshock has alot more content, deeper story and overall a more interesting experience.
Not saying Halo 3's campaign isn't good....it is pretty good. But its not great. Like I said...I enjoyed finishing the fight....but I feel like the fight was handed to me on a silver platter.
The only really challenging levels were the flood levels. Which is just like Halo 1 & 2.
I'm not gonna spoil the end for those that haven't beaten it yet. But ultimately, while it was entertaining and fun, the fun was short lived. If they decide to continue this story arc for some reason, or tell more stories in the halo universe....make the game longer.
If I were to vote between Bioshock and Halo 3 for Game of the Year....I would have to say as far as storyline and immersion....Bioshock should take it.
Now onto the multiplayer aspect.
Here is where Halo 3 really really shines. Which you know means they spent more time polishing these features than the campaign.
Forge is fun, but building a good map will take time...and you probably need to do it by yourself so a friend doesn't distract you and be tempted to blow up your pretty stack of fusion cores. Controls are really easy to remember and are pretty intuitive.
By far the funnest thing to me is the Theater control feature. I love replaying games I just played, watching how others play, rewinding awesome moments and taking screen shots.
As far as gameplay goes...its still Halo, which is both good and bad. Because I know that all the new stuff will get old eventually and I'll be back where I was with Halo 2....bored.
But hopefully that wont be for a long while.
And with games like COD4 and Team Fortress 2 coming out soon....I can space out my Halo gaming so I don't get bored as quickly.
Thats about it for now. You all have a good weekend.
