I finally got a 360 yesterday and of course halo 3 to go with it and Loving it. I was able to find one with HDMI out.The only issue is that with the HDMI port so close to the component cable both can't be plugged in at the same time. My receiver doesn't  have HDMI capabilities as it is 7 years old. It does however have optical, which I am using currently and sounds great. This time i am a week and few days behind everyone else joining the halo universe instead of a few years behind. See you online and happy hunting,

Welcome to the 360 club. I think the HDMI was put that close purposely so people wouldnt plug both video outputs in at the same time which could possibly cause problems. You can buy a dongle somewhere if you need to output video and sound to seperate devices, but the HDMI does carry video and audio and many HDMI TVs have audio outputs so you can do that as well.
