The clouds are grey and wispy white and moving in a counterclockwise direction. Not real tight in the swirl, but it is quite the sight. So, what does any good midwestern girl do? Call her husband and say "Guess what, I'm watching a tornado try to form overhead." Too cool. These aren't scud clouds either. You can see an area that is circular and rotating and is is lower than the other clouds.
Looking to the south of me, I can see clouds moving extremely fast towards this area. Other tenants in the hotel have come out of their rooms to witness this. We watch it move off to the north and Dastard asks me if I can see a rainfree base. No, but we weren't getting much rain at the time. Guess what? We were in the rain free base. As this set of clouds moved off, the whole sky looked as if it were in turmoil. Then we could see the clouds moving closer to the ground. Still nothing very tight or organized, but definitely trying. Then it hits. Major rain and it is now hailing, hitting my door.
My phone no longer is getting service and I'm cut off from Dastard. The phone is in analog now. Next best thing is IM. We both look at radar and he notices another storm to the south of where I'm located. This one has a nice pink blob moving in my direction. This could get interesting. Naw, it's pooping out on me. That's ok, it was a good show while it lasted.
Would you rather
While stranded at sea, be on a sturdy boat with no provisions
Or
be on a flimsy raft with a box of food?
Keep on Go!
