Found this on Yahoo! last night.  Interesting read.  And, yes Halo 3 is one of the "three steps" to get them into gaming.  So read and if you try it, good luck!

If it were me and I was trying to get a friend to play video games I can't say I would recomend Halo 3 MM right off the bat.  Especially if they have never gamed a day in there life.  What would you recommend for a noob to gaming?

I think go with the Ninetendo bread and butter at first and show them that gaming can be fun. (this only applies if you are trying to get a girl into gaming). We got a Wii a while back an my wife's whole family loves it.

Wii might be a good start, plus fun for most folks mean they can they can win, if they are always getting the beating they quit.So whatever you choose let them win a little.

not Halo: get killed too easy and hte coontrols are hard. Cart Racing: it's fun, it's easy to use the controls. One button to go: left or right stick to steer...

@ Boulder....not nice...maybe she'd want her own box then you could play for hours knowing she's hooked over on her own box. :) Recruit the children to "train" her on H3. :) :)

I can tell you right now, my wife would TOTALLY not be into Halo. She'd be more into pacman or some XBLA game than Halo. She spends a lot of time playing those stupid flash games that you accumulate points in and cash out for prizes. That's more her speed. Anything with a gun, she wouldn't be into

My wife likes to play, but not FPS, makes her sick. She really wants to play H3 with us so is gonna try motion sickness meds. She never played vid games before meeting me but wanted to see why I loved em so much, she's not hooked but she will play. Good post.
