New Pledge

New Pledge of Allegiance!

Since the Pledge of Allegiance
and
The Lord's Prayer
are not allowed in most
public schools anymore
Because the word "God" is mentioned....

Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Qu een,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
!

It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen

That is why my wife is home schooling our daughters. Not to mention that the Governator just signed bill SB 777 in to effect last week.

Too bad they're not in my room. If the kids initiate the discussion, I can answer questions. May get canned; don't care.

God is hardly a pillar of morals. There is this place called church were you can go and worship your God as much as you want. Why does it have to be in public school systems? If Christians are so concerned about their children getting a fair education then why don't they teach evolution at church?

This is my blog. You are free to express your atheism on yours. Do I go and attack your beliefs? No, I respect your right to choose. You don't want to read it, don't push the button. We don't teach evolution at church because we don't believe man was an accident that emerged from a pool of gunk. If you took more time to understand what Christianity is really about, you wouldn't be so afraid of it.

I was looking through the "public" blogs and I saw yours and I responded. It is my right to respond to your "public" blog If I want to isn't it? Are only those who agree with your opinions and beliefs allowed to respond to your "public" blog? Are there restrictions about responses to the "public" blogs here that I am unaware of? My responses may not....please you.....every time i make them, but, I do have a right to them just as any of the other responses in your public blog. Right? Peace

Look, the reason I responded to that...."poem" was because of its content. I was "moved" to respond against it. : ) It (Your poem), basically says that people with green or purple hair, or with piercings, or those who dress differently and curse, and don't "believe" in God are "bad" people, or "whats wrong with the world" where as those who worship "God" are good, or whats right with the world. I take offense to that because I am a good moral person that does not believe in God. I'm "different", but I'm not "evil" or "dumb" or a "criminal" because I'm different, and don't believe in god. Either I think you might have just missed the true meaning of that "poem" a bit, or you actually believe that.? And, to say that simply resiting the word God in a pledge will improve morality in children whose lives are being eroded away by real world problems and poor mental health is naive. I bet If we took a poll, we would find that most, If not all, of the rapist and murderers on death row are christian or born again christian. Obviously the Bible or God or the Church is not doing a great job of deterring crime. Might be time to try a different strategy? Peace

The Truth shall always remain the truth. People are the ones that distort it. The poem, not mine, says that while other things are ok, to openly be a Christian is not. I personally have two piercings and red and blonde hilights. It is not the fault of the Bible or God or the church, which is the body of Christ (God). People are given free will to make their choices. When you know Jesus on a personal level, you too shall know this peace which you seek. I have it. You wish to debate. I do not. I just want you to show by beliefs respect. I respect yours, I just don't agree with them. I won't go to your "public" blog, however, and espouse how wrong I think they are. Despite your beliefs, I respect them.

Well, If you think it is right to put down people just because they dress different or don't believe in God then I guess we were just raised different. Peace

Dress has nothing to do with it, and I don't judge non-Christians. I don't judge anyone. That's not my job. You are twisting things to suit your purpose. I have no idea how you were raised. I was raised in a violent home with alcoholism and abuse, etc. And the bit about being "raised different"? I would call that a putdown, which I have yet to do to you. Spin it however you wish.

You do know that the word GOD was not in the first pledge. It was added by the government in 1954. The pledge is an oath to the country not to a god.
