1200 - Well this mornin started me off with a plate of hot tomato or mater as us southern boys say it, mater gravy and biscuits and my pot of coffee. Saw a glorious sun rise, 'red in morning sailor takes warning' but I don't think there are any storms on the horizon today, just high winds. I have my Pilot trainee at the wheel and I'm needin to watch him closely as we're heading through Alton MI and they is a huge lock to pass through. We make the locks with out a hitch and head on through Wood River and down through St. Louis and the great Arch. Well we don't pass through the Arch but right by it. The sun is bright in the sky and it's shining very nicely. We're at mile 199 on the Upper Mississippi river now and once we get to Cairo Illinois we'll have another 850 miles or so to the dock down in New Orleans. We'll be passing through Memphis Tenn around Tuesday so if any of you guys live over there watch for us.

Our boat internet has been down so I haven't had the chance to play any H3 and by the time I get off watch I'm pretty tired. Not physically but mentally. It's a job telling someone how to navigate the way they should without being behind the wheel, and in the dark is really difficult. So, I'll go for now and get some rest cause tonight is gonna be fun. The Ms Rvr is really low right now and that makes navigating it difficult and not without some dangers. One of which is running aground, not good let me tell ya.
