I had service with them that I had prepaid for one year. After the first month, I never used it. Both sites were egregiously slow so I decided to count it up as a bad decision and move on, figuring I would just let the domain expire and be done with them. During the past year, they have this nifty little upgrade program. They would email about "automatic" upgrades to the service such as, more space, more bandwidth, extra emails, etc., that they would automatically charge you for.
They didn't bother notifying me through regular mail, they would send emails to an account I hardly ever checked and I wouldn't find out about it until the charges started showing up on my account. I would then have to go through their billing department to have these items removed. Each time, I continually asked them to remove me from these automatic upgrades, they never did.
Here we are a year later. I see a charge come across for renewed domain registration. I called them and immediately canceled my account with them and told them I wanted a refund for the domain name registration. The associate informed me that I would need to speak with the customer service department for a refund. I called the customer service department and they informed me that the charge was non-refundable.
I told the associate on the other end that they had charged me for an unauthorized charge. He then tried to tell me that according to the terms of use that they automatically renewed the service and refused to let me speak to a manager. I am considering charging it back, but I don't know how much good that would do.
This is not a lot of money, but it's business practices like these that piss me off and make me never want to do business with people like them. It ruins what little reputation they may have had.

I guess it's my fault for not checking here first.
