In the begining...

I have never blogged before, but I have a feeling this will be very therapeutic for me.

Since this is my first attempt at this, I will pretty much just throw out the basics of me, etc.

The main characters- Me (otherwise known as Aimzb or Drew), Amy- my wife, Sasha- "my" dog, Sugar- "Amy's" dog

The setting- average sized rental house in middle America- Paducah, KY

What I do- I am the Executive Director for New Pathways for Children.  We are a private non-profit residential treatment center for adolescents that are in the custody of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  Basically we care for and provide therapy and behavioral modification for teenagers that have gone into state custody for either having been abused or neglected or have some (mostly) minor legal problems.  We have a girls campus that currently has 8 girls and a boys campus that currently has 16 boys.  For more info check out our website (currently under construction) www.npfc.net

What Amy does- She is the Legal/Administrative Assistant for the local performing arts center- www.thecarsoncenter.org  Being in a twon of 35,000 people, you wouldn't expect the performing arts center to be very much.  But it is an amazing $15 million facility.

Where we live- Paducah is more or less your average smallish middle America town.  It is somewhat unusual in that the city population is only 35,000, but the county population is just shy of 100,000- the little suburbs continue to refuse annexation due to higher city taxes.  What's even crazier is that the population within a 50 mile radius is around 600,000.  So the physical size of the city itself isn't that much.  But, there is plenty to do here.  It is really rather nice.  Small town feel.  Low crime rate.  Low cost of living.  Lots of entertainment.  It also helps that Land Between the Lakes National Rec. Area is about 20 miles away.  Huge tourist and retirement area.  The two largest lakes in the country, outside the Great Lakes.

My life- Work.  That is pretty much it right now.  Tomorrow's blog ("My Dream Job Is Turning Into a Nightmare") will get into that more.  Stress like you could not believe.

My clan- 2o4D  What a Godsend you guys have been.  Playing with the Timmies was almost getting to be to much.  Playing CoD is such a stress reliever for me.  I am so thankful for a wife that understands this and puts up with my occasional Friday night of staying up till 4 A.M. to play.  Finding a clan to joke around with, but also play seriously with on occasion, is so what I was looking for.  I was actually considering joining several other clans just to be able to get away from the Timmies and to get back to really enjoying playing CoD.  Stang, if you happen to read this, thank you so much for posting that thread on charlieoscardelta!

More tomorrow... if I have time.
