So we contacted Microsoft again, and they said that they would replace the HDD for free, we just have to pay the shipping.  So I sent it off today, hopefully it will be a quick turn around.  I was able to transfer mine, and Durty's profiles, my Halo 3 saves, GH3 saves, GoW, and my Oblivion saves.....everything else is pretty much gone, I tried a dozen times last night to get the defective HDD to work to no avail.  So now I'm gaming off the memory card.  I just couldnt bring myself to spend another $180 for a new elite HDD..especially this close to the holidays.  This is my first issue with Microsoft since jumping on the XBox ship.  I have been a PS gamer since the original, and when I purchased the 360, it was a tough debate on my part, but the number of good games won me over, hopefully this will be my only bad deal!!!!  At least untill my system goes out!!!

Everything you've downloaded off marketplace you can re-download at no charge. So you haven't lost anything that way. The only thing you've lost are save games. It's a good idea to just use a mem cart as your save game location. Laptop HDDs don't have a great lifespan so it's a good idea to utilize mem carts for your saves and your gamer profile.

You're HOT!! If you want, I can keep you busy so you don't notice that it's gone too bad. :) I would like that a lot... hehe
