Sadly, I doubt it. As of right now, the DLC pricing for GHIII is the same ridiculous amount it was for GHII. It's amazing to me that gamers would stand for a move like this and the publishers would have the audacity to expect consumers to stomach it without providing something in return. Like, you know...all those multi-million dollar television shows that play on network television. Guess what, they are supported with advertisements and product placement.
Free games anyone? I would be all for it, throw some ads in my games, even give me a commercial break in between campaign chapters. Again, I doubt this is going to happen, but man I would surely choke down my crow if the game publishers actually made this happen.
Charge me for the system? Fine.
Charge me for the games? Sure thing.
Charge me for the online service? Meh, I can deal.
Charge me for downloadable content that probably should have been in the game in the first place? I am starting to get annoyed.
Deliver ads to me and make a buck off my playing time without giving me the option to disable or providing something in return? I have better things to do with my time.
Frankly, I wouldn't support publishers that employ this strategy and sadly, many will. I am beating a dead horse here, I know it. I just hope I am not the only one that feels this way.
