Heart Attack?

Last night, about 2am, I awoke with a stabbing chest pain below my left pec and  I was in a cold sweat.  My wife, who is a nurse, took my pulse and it was racing.  She took my blood pressure and it was high (140/100).  If I hadn't already had a doctor's appointment scheduled for this morning at 9am, I think I would have dialed 911.

My wife quizzed me about other symtoms typical to a heart attack, but I wasn't short of breath, didn't have any numbness down my arm, didn't feel dizzy, and didn't have any other body aches.  Still, it scared the shit out of me.

I'll see what the doc says today, but I think it's time for me to take a long hard look at the way I treat my body.  The last couple of months since my lay-off, I've been eating like crap, drinking too much, and putting very little effort into working out.  Even if last night was just acute indigestion, I have to take it as a wake-up call.

An EKG will determine if you actually had a heart attack. I hope it was just a bad case of heart burn.
