Shared on Mon, 11/26/2007 - 11:06It's been a while since I have had anything to cheer about on the grid-iron. My favorite teams in my favorite sport are going through transition, and that makes for a frustrating season.
Miami Dolphins: 0-10
I can't remember the last time the Dolphins were this bad. The era of Marino and Shula are long gone. So, who's going to fill their shoes? I use to miss not having season's tickets. Not this year.
Alabama Crimson Tide: 6-6
I was more than excited when Saban left my beloved Dolphins to coach my favorite college team. I'm going to try to be patient and give the highest paid coach in the NCAA another year to show improvement. This season showed a few signs of hope but losing to rival Auburn for a 6th straight season didn't help. I am probably one of the few Bama fans that does NOT want to see my team go to a bowl game. Time spent preparing for a bowl game could be better spent on recruiting and prep for next season.
Miami Hurricanes: 5-7
Having lived in the Miami area while growing up, I found myself pulling for the Canes often. I got to see a lot of great Miami teams play in the Orange Bowl. And I like to see Florida and Florida State lose. But, like Bama, the Canes are rebuilding. I think they'll get things turned around in about 3 years.
The Orange Bowl
After the last scheduled game is played in the Orange Bowl in Jan. 08, the historic venue will be demolished. Sadness. I'll blog on this in detail when the date arrives. I have a ton of personal photos to share as well.
The Ohio State Buckeyes: 11-1
I have a number of friends that work for the Bucks in athletic training capacities. Therefore, I like to see these guys win.
