Let's Smoke Some Hash

I expect that was Altair's comment at the start of the weekend. I capped Creed last night and got my first complete 1000 gp title. Woot. Whatever. Moving on...

Beyond all of the repetitive criticism this game received, I really enjoyed the experience. That's what gaming is all about. Enjoying the experience. I could care less what the critics thought. The game had its flaws, but what title doesn't. But enough with the perception of defending Jade and company. Here's what I'd like to change about the game...in no particular order.

Less guard alert when I'm galloping through the Kingdom. Even the slightest canter from my steed sent Saracens into a heavy lather. So chill on that a bit.

Let's save some citizens from various types of peril. Harassment from guards is good for one save per city district. What if a lady was being chased by drunken retards and you had to use non-deadly force (fists and shoving) to save the damsel. Just one idea off the cuff. Saving a kidnapped citizen could also be brought into the fray.

What about some informant assassinations at night. Dynamic lighting from lantern, torch and candle. This would force heavy use on your Eagle Vision. Don't assassin's tend to like the night life?

If you do not stealth assassinate each target, the mission fails outright. You shouldn't be able to chase the target down the street hoping a vigilante will hold them.

Side quests should open up when you find all of the flags in the various districts. The achievement points are cool, but it would've been nice to earn story content for the effort.

Instead of timed flag hunts and timed informant assassinations, why not build in sequence or position markers where you have to notch the targets in a particular order...and make it harder to reach these guys...or you have to stealth them before they reach a certain position on the map. The clock was okay at first, but took me out of the moment half-way in.

More variety in the ways to gather information would be nice. I think Ubi did a good job with this but 3 to 4 more options would make a huge difference.

I'm sure Ubi has already thought of these ideas and even better ones. I look forward to the next installment.

I agree, it's all about enjoyment...and it's why I won't be picking this title up. I don't like repetition. Hell, games like GTA are too repetitive for me.\r \r That was my chief complaint of the Halo 3 campaign...back and forth repetition.\r \r It's why I like Gears so much...not much repetition (unless you're playing Krack3r and getting your head sniped off time after time).

I finished it I shined on looking for all the flags. I made it a point to finish it before opening up Mass Effect. I liked the graphics and too a point the game play. But really the damn repetitive crap was just too much for me. I traded it in .\r \r

Doscon, how did you find the flags? Do you have a guide? I can't even find all the ones in Masyaf let alone the 100 per big city--I'm definitely going for the guide after I finish the game.

Great suggestions for a better game. Some lantern-lit night scenes would have been really cool...I was all about this game until the last 10 hours, then I wanted to assassinate myself. Hopefully the next installment improves uppn the flaws.

Night missions +1. \r \r I had fun with it, mainly becuase of how awesome the city scapes were. I would have liked more of an ending too...not a cliff hanger for Creed 2.

@mtk: yes I have the guide and the flags are all marked. some numbers are repeated, which sucks, but all can be found without much fanfare.\r \r @jed: yes, i'll sell it either here on on ebay.
