Being the apparent winner of the Ninteno Wii we wanted to get for the kid for Xmas and of course....

There has not been any contact from the seller...

I am telling you, this whole process has been a giant headache from start to finish.  Trying to get in on a auction for what we decided was a reasonable amount of money, and then trying to not be outbid with in the last 5 seconds of the auction was enough to make me remember why i stopped using EBay in the first place.

It was pure luck that I managed to eek this one out with only 5 seconds remaining and only having to increase my bid by 5 bucks.  Luckily my parents gave us 100 dollars to go towards it so we coudl go outside our comfort zone with the price a little.

Follow up finally winning it with being unable to pay for it right away with Paypal was a complete and total pain in the ass.  1hour and 45mins or so on hold so I couls speak to "Jason" in India and getting the basic line they give everyone as to why their service blows.

So, we decide to forgo the paypal and take up the seller on their other option listed for acceptable payment, that being a Cashiers Check or money order, both of which I would gladly send overnight and registered mail to get them to the seller quickly.  The seller wants to make money right?

WRONG.  Its been about 36 hours since the auction ended and none of my messages have been replied to.  After 72 hours you can apparently put in a request to get the sellers listed phone number, and believe me, I will be doing that.  If I don't get any resolution from that, I am going to pretty much tell the whole thing to go to hell and go to plan B.   I'll get the kid a PS3 or something.

I've had very few poor experiences with Ebay sellers (maybe 3 of 170+ total). The worst was winning an iRiver MP3 player for significantly less than the average sale price. I PayPaled funds to his account, and didn't have an item or a response to my inquiries for 10 or so business days. I threatened "all legal recourses would be taken" to protect my payment and personal information. I received an apology that day and the item several days later.

Most of my eBay experiences have been good, but I've had a couple nasty ones. Sometimes sellers get disappointed that their item didn't go for the average or what they were expecting price and they try to figure out a way to wiggle out of it. Hopefully this won't be the case. Of course in this case, you're dealing with what's essentially a scalper, so they're probably suspect from the get go. At least you can get some sort of contact info out of them within 72 hours - used to have to wait 30 days before you could file any sort of complaint.

I'll just refuse to pay if Iget no resolution for more than a week. I could care less at this point if I have a good relationship with friggin ebay or not.

I have bought around 100 items on ebay and tons of problems with the sellers, very little with ebay.
