I think I've made a decision I can live with....

Writing.

I've always enjoyed reading & writing. Especially fantasy, short stories and poetry. I'm not a masterful poet by any means...I'd be sticking to the novels and short stories.
But I believe that I can stick with it and work on what I need to.

Novels, short stories & screenplays would be my work.

But for everyday needs & expenses I'll stick with working for someone else for now....till I can build a reputation for myself. And working for a printshop has its advantages as far as writing goes....

I can get discounts on getting my work printed. MUHARHAR!

The hardest part I think is getting it published. So I'm gonna have to do some research on that. If anyone has some helpful info on getting their work published please shoot it my way.

So a choice has been made. Now its time to get some work done and begin the journey.

Eventually I'd like the writing to evolve into filmwork and directing. But all in good time. One goal & dream at a time. Don't wanna stress out and lose site of what I want to do. lol.

I feel at peace about the choice. And I know the field isn't flooded. Not just anyone can write a good story. And I know I'm capable of that.

Gatsu OUT!

If you are just starting out you may want to look into self-publishing. Basically they take the "print on demand" approach to book building. I did some illustrations for a children's book that is going through the "self-publish" process right now. Here's a few links that might help.... Good info site: http://www.underdown.org/self-publishing.htm Printers/publishers: http://www.lulu.com/ http://www.blurb.com/ Good luck!

Check out http://www.writestuffwriters.com/ They hold workshops and conferences across the country. If you do the workshops, you can submit up to two chapters/25 pages for professional evaluation by an editor or publisher. I went to the one in Indy this past spring and loved it. Be forewarned, though...until you make it big it's a lot of work for essentially no pay if you're writing fiction. Maybe you should consider melding your graphic abilities with tech writing...at least to start?
