It's pretty enjoyable so far. I mean to say that I was up about an hour past bedtime after getting to a new planet and was considering staying up.
So, yeah, pretty good.
It is not too challenging. Of course your Ratchet can die by falling off platforms, stabby stabby by the bad guys, etc, but the game doesn't punish you too much when you die. You fall back a little ways at the last save point. Depending on where you are in the level, of course.
I like the weapon upgrade system, though I wish it was a little more transparent.
There are enough hidden things to warrant going back to cleared areas and searching around a bit more.
My wife made the comment when I was talking about the robots and pirates, that if there were ninjas, it would be the trifecta.
It is a solid platformer, appropriate for the teen set for sure. No objectionable language or overt violence besides the cartoony take-downs of the baddies.
More impressions as I get further along.
