One Goal, kill, kill, kill

Does anyone else out there find that they get “pussy blind” when it comes to kills in FPS?

One of my weaknesses is blocking everything out and chasing the other guy around the map in and out of buildings trying to get that shot.  I know its stupid and that I’m vulnerable but I don’t give a crap. I want that kill and I want it bad.

When I’m doing this I usually end up dying from a sniper or the guy that’s chasing me around.  And its always just before I catch the guy I’m chasing %@!*$#

What are some tips to avoid this?  Maybe playing more of a zone defense/offense?

Its not uncommon for me to zoom in on a window where I know the bad guy is and sit there waiting until I get knifed.  I’m a pretty good driver because I’m constantly checking my mirrors and keeping track of all the cars around me.  Maybe I need to do the same thing with the radar, checks every 3 seconds or something.

There are some pretty good players on this site, lotus, r3d scare to name a few I’ve met lately.  What are some FPS tips? (especially for COD4)  How can I get that 32 kill streak?

you need to keep moving...perching in one spot = death most of the time...unless you are very good at checking your radar. Know the "kill zones" of the different maps, these will be the routes traveled by the enemy to get to places for Domination, headquarters, etc.. Also use this same info to prevent you from running in those same zones..
