R.I.P. Treo

It's been over 3 years and my treo has served me well but it finally died. The first year I took extreme care. The second I was still careful with it, but this last year it has taken a beating. Lost my case, then dropped it a couple of times on accident, then I left it on our bumper and my wife drove off and I didn't realize it for awhile. I found it shredded, but put the pieces back together again and voila! It fired up for me and helped me keep my life organized. I had to end up using super glue to keep the thing together this year and while it looks like someone took a cheese grader to the top of it, it still worked hard for me.

Then it started to happen last fall - the screen started to disintegrate. It would disappear and act all wonky for a couple of days than it would magically resurrect itself and hum along just fine. As soon as I thought everything was ok, it would happen again. I put up with it for a few months out of my loyalty (or not wanting to plunk down the cash on a new phone)- nevertheless it finally started to drop calls while in conversation and disappear at the same time and then it would not turn back on. So sad. Rest in peace treo! The story does have a happy ending as I finally had a nice excuse to pick up my long-awaited iPhone!

blackjack II, hopefully your iPhone screen doesn't crack. I've had at least 10 people swap out their iphone for the blackberrys

Well, it seems like you got your money's worth out of the Treo, (and the tube of Super Glue). Let us know your thoughts on the iPhone.

So far it's been a great experience. Extremely intuitive. I wondered about typing coming from a long time keypad user, but I picked it up really quick and have not missed the pad. Have free push e-mail on it and it's handled my personal and business data so far seamlessly. So far so good! :)
